ANGELS OF LOVE

was established in 1997 by Rick and Sally Cryder. Rick’s dream was to create a ministry that made stained-glass Angels that were freely given to bring encouragement, love, hope, peace, and comfort to people during difficult circumstances-whether grieving the loss of a family member or suffering from a serious illness, disability, or tragedy.

These beautiful stained-glass, gold-plated Angels take approximately three hours to make. Their beauty is matched by the generous hearts of the volunteers who donate their time, talent, and material resources to the Angels of Love Ministry.

OUR APPROACH

Partnering to build a world where all people are never forgotten in times of need.

Since its inception in 1997, Angels of Love has delivered more than 11,000 Angels to people in need of comfort and compassion. Before the September 11 tragedy, Angels of Love was a part-time ministry. Following the attack of the twin towers, the volunteer programs were established, and since then our caring team of volunteers has worked diligently to make these Angels in order to touch and change lives.

In 1997, we delivered Angels to patients in one hospital. Today our reach has increased to include 12 Orange County hospitals, as well as the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.

— Our Mission

Our Mission is to give Angels to people who are grieving the loss of a family member or suffering from a serious illness, disability, or tragedy, AND to serve God to the best of our ability and demonstrate Christ’s love by this random act of kindness.

— Our Vision

Our Vision is to touch and change as many lives as possible by expanding our community volunteer base so we can make and give away more Angels.

— Our Founder

“My purpose is to bring hope, peace, comfort, and love to others. I do this out of compassion and God’s leading. God has given me a heart for people with tragedies in their lives, and I want to share HIS love with them.” – Rick Cryder

PARTNER

Angels of Love partners with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department to teach men and women inmate-volunteers to make these beautiful, handcrafted stained-glass Angels. Non-violent detainees from the James A. Musick Jail and the Youth Guidance Center in Santa Ana, California, enthusiastically make Angels that bring hope and inspiration to the community. By volunteering, the inmates and juveniles build self-esteem and become more optimistic about their future.
As of December 2007, approximately 1,500 inmates from the Orange County jail system have participated in the Angels of Love program. All materials and instructional training are provided by Angels of Love at no cost to the County or taxpayers.

angels of Love is solely run by volunteers

We encourage anyone who would like to spend time helping in this program to contact the Angels of Love. We are more than willing to spend time training volunteers in the craft of stained glass making. Our volunteers range from 17 to 86 years old.
